Michael and I are getting married on a bit of a budget which means that I’m trying to do as much of the organising and making of things myself (with the help of Michael). I actually really enjoy doing this sort of stuff so I’m secretly very pleased that these jobs have fallen upon me!</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; direction: ltr; font-family: Lato !important; font-size: 15px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
It took me a while to think of something to do for the invites- I kept trawling through Pinterest and Blogs, seeing these amazing designs, and panicking about how much time they were going to take. In the end I just started doodling and it all kind of fell into place. I decided not to include all the details about the wedding on the invite itself but made a web address at <a href="http://theknot.co.uk/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit;">www.theknot.co.uk</a>. Guests could RSVP, find directions, places to stay and pick what they wanted to have for dinner (which by the way is going to be <a href="https://www.facebook.com/siciliaroots?ref=bookmarks" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit;">Italian food from a man with a van</a> that is also a pizza oven… Fancyy!!)</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; direction: ltr; font-family: Lato !important; font-size: 15px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
The invitations themselves probably took me half a day to paint, scan in and layout but it was the printing and envelope writing that took the longest. I would say all in all it took me two full days to make sure everyone on our guest list had a personalised wedding invitation.<img alt="DIY Wedding Invites" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2914" src="http://www.eleanorjoyphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/wedding_invites-1.jpg" height="527" style="border: none; box-sizing: border-box; clear: both; display: block; height: auto; margin: 0px auto 1em; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px; width: auto;" width="790" /></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; direction: ltr; font-family: Lato !important; font-size: 15px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
If you’re planning on doing the same sort of thing for your wedding I would advise setting aside 3 days. This will give you time to get hold of all the materials you need, designing/experimenting (aka having enough time to make mistakes) and then the monotonous task of photocopying/printing, cutting up and addressing.</div>
<h3 style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; direction: ltr; font-family: Oswald !important; font-size: 18px; font-weight: 400; line-height: 1.2; margin: 12px 0px; padding: 0px; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box; line-height: inherit;">This is what I spent our money on for creating these invites:</strong></h3>
<ol style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; direction: ltr; font-family: Lato; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.6; list-style-position: inside; margin: 0px 0px 17px; padding: 0px;">
<li style="box-sizing: border-box; direction: ltr; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">A big pad of drawing and watercolour paper (100 sheets of paper). We bought ours <a href="https://www.cassart.co.uk/painting/watercolour_paints/product_type_watercolour_paper/fabriano_accademia_pad_240gsm_100_sheets_27_x_35cm.htm" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">here.</a> £18.50. Luckily there’s a lot left over which I’ll use for place names and table numbers etc.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box; direction: ltr; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Watercolour Paints… which I already had.. but you can get a cheap set for under £5.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box; direction: ltr; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">A pot of gold paint and a brush. £10. <a href="https://www.cassart.co.uk/c_roberson_liquid_metal.htm" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Here</a> and <a href="https://www.cassart.co.uk/painting/brushes_2/synthetic_1/daler_rowney_system_3_sh_round.htm" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Here</a></li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box; direction: ltr; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Good quality envelopes. £28 (£4 for 20). <a href="http://www.paperchase.co.uk/stationery/writing/paper/parchment-c6-envelopes-pack-of-20.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Here</a></li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box; direction: ltr; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">A book of 100 2nd Stamps. £54. <a href="http://www.staples.co.uk/2nd-class-stamps-x-100/cbs/398261.html?price=incvat&cm_mmc=SEM_PLA-_-google-_-serp-pla&mcode=SEM_PLA-google-serp-pla&gclid=Cj0KEQiAtri0BRDLoaCF95e7o_sBEiQA_pgRQyVdgoibNIu-1mh8mk4VfqGsqzrW5Ql9x5I11_ExlOsaAnHV8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Here</a></li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box; direction: ltr; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Sealant wax and stamps. £6. <a href="http://www.hemashop.com/gb/shop?fh_location=%2F%2Fgbhema%2Fen_GB%2F%24s%3Dwax&fh_sort=pgb_stockavailability%2C-_match_rate&fh_modification=&fh_secondid=pgb_25320048" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Here</a> and<a href="http://www.hemashop.com/gb/shop?fh_location=%2F%2Fgbhema%2Fen_GB%2F%24s%3Dwax&fh_sort=pgb_stockavailability%2C-_match_rate&fh_modification=&fh_secondid=pgb_60710026" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;"> Here</a></li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box; direction: ltr; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">And if you don’t use a photocopier from somewhere… There will be the cost of printing….</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box; direction: ltr; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Last but not least… Guilletine £29.95. <a href="https://www.cassart.co.uk/craft/paper_and_cards/card_making_accessories/xcut_guillotine_13_inches.htm" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Here.</a> If you’re on a really tight budget you can just use a cheap stanley knife and a metal ruler but I found that took me longer.</li>
</ol>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; direction: ltr; font-family: Lato !important; font-size: 15px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
I would advise creating your invitation around tools you already have. For example I knew I already had a guillotine so I purposely didn’t search for cheap good quality A5 size blocks of paper… I knew I would be able to cut the big sheets up myself. In total I spent around £100 on getting invites sent to all out guests. But that will also cover the place names, table numbers and maybe even the order of service.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; direction: ltr; font-family: Lato !important; font-size: 15px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<a href="http://www.eleanorjoyphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Wedding-Invites-e1452172588396.jpg" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit;"><img alt="Wedding Invites" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2919" src="http://www.eleanorjoyphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Wedding-Invites-e1452172588396.jpg" height="782" style="border: none; box-sizing: border-box; clear: both; display: block; height: auto; margin: 0px auto 1em; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px; width: auto;" width="790" /></a></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; direction: ltr; font-family: Lato !important; font-size: 15px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
I could give you a step to step guide on how I created these but I guess you don’t want to copy mine completely! If I were to do this all again I would start by drawing and doodling and see what comes out. Once you’ve created something- scan it in and put it with some text. If you don’t have Photoshop or any creative programs you can download <a href="https://www.gimp.org/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit;">GIMP</a> which is a free program for image manipulation and will work perfectly well for this project. <a href="http://www.eleanorjoyphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/wedding_invites-1.jpg" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit;"><br style="box-sizing: border-box;" /></a><a href="http://www.eleanorjoyphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/PicMonkey-Collage.jpg" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit;"><img alt="PicMonkey Collage" class="aligncenter wp-image-2912" src="http://www.eleanorjoyphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/PicMonkey-Collage.jpg" height="610" style="border: none; box-sizing: border-box; clear: both; display: block; height: auto; margin: 0px auto 1em; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" width="800" /></a><a href="http://www.eleanorjoyphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/PicMonkey-Collage2.jpg" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit;"><img alt="wedding_invites-3" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2916" src="http://www.eleanorjoyphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/wedding_invites-3.jpg" height="527" style="border: none; box-sizing: border-box; clear: both; display: block; height: auto; margin: 0px auto 1em; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px; width: auto;" width="790" /><img alt="PicMonkey Collage2" class="aligncenter wp-image-2913" src="http://www.eleanorjoyphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/PicMonkey-Collage2.jpg" height="610" style="border: none; box-sizing: border-box; clear: both; display: block; height: auto; margin: 0px auto 1em; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" width="800" /></a>If you’d like me to design your wedding invitation or you’d like help designing your own please don’t hesitate to drop me a line!</div>

Coming from a photo obsessed, image taking addict, I’m sure it will come as no surprise when I tell you that I make and keep homemade photo albums.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; direction: ltr; font-family: Lato !important; font-size: 15px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Having albums with the images laid out to tell a story means that every once in a while I do look through them and remember times that I don’t often think about. I get my photo albums from Paperchase which you can get <a href="http://www.paperchase.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=traditional+photo+albums" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit;">here</a> and use brown photo corners which you can get <a href="http://paperchase.co.uk/kraft-photocorners.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #7e7e7e; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit;">here</a></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #444444; direction: ltr; font-family: Lato !important; font-size: 15px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
I thought it might be nice to share with you a few from a few years ago.</div>

Currently I provide all the edited and original images on a USB stick which is presented in a handmade, bespoke package. As an addition to this personal photo package I am now creating cute string-tie envelopes to hold the couples prints. As I am addicted to taking photos, I took a few photos along the way- just incase you too have a yearning to create a few little envelopes.<br />
<br />
So here's a step-to-step guide<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step 1. Create an envelope template.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDWbeqcE4pO9i4JYaMHLIQWC86M-weG1218QLJ13p9qsoUm1vozWnacSGrLkzZQvBJ6djGqsDvbUJoocFtHe4ECU_3WVAUrAapdyOvUDWmXGHYhbGQjs97Rx6iuozJyB7M_TeFUyBw8U8/s1600/_MG_2836.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDWbeqcE4pO9i4JYaMHLIQWC86M-weG1218QLJ13p9qsoUm1vozWnacSGrLkzZQvBJ6djGqsDvbUJoocFtHe4ECU_3WVAUrAapdyOvUDWmXGHYhbGQjs97Rx6iuozJyB7M_TeFUyBw8U8/s1600/_MG_2836.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Step 2. Fold it all up.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEac4FHaSfJ3iJvDvQFNF3ToYKUEJaKiIc1vf3I6EAU6971Hoqyo5AOWq1G5YF71LkLhZl7dCL9B0y6G177EZddhpafLzQ83Wses4l8vLyaUgKV9O9QzEdFko7q0N4XkAJcW6fDMYn-lE/s1600/_MG_2838.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEac4FHaSfJ3iJvDvQFNF3ToYKUEJaKiIc1vf3I6EAU6971Hoqyo5AOWq1G5YF71LkLhZl7dCL9B0y6G177EZddhpafLzQ83Wses4l8vLyaUgKV9O9QzEdFko7q0N4XkAJcW6fDMYn-lE/s1600/_MG_2838.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
Step 3. Seal it with some Washi tape (or if you’re not using tracing paper some Pritt Stick)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjing4n7O59wEkaKEDne54nQE6iYZK6L5s1fH0N2r7EMRBefdyQyne-LbVbdDqHlpRrunaoB74BOLZ7EjMgU5_c2cDC6vJxr2u3yFr_YOD0Q8mtiDO_TPh4mYOMePF4Sd6CgGyc-0qZ1gA/s1600/_MG_2840.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjing4n7O59wEkaKEDne54nQE6iYZK6L5s1fH0N2r7EMRBefdyQyne-LbVbdDqHlpRrunaoB74BOLZ7EjMgU5_c2cDC6vJxr2u3yFr_YOD0Q8mtiDO_TPh4mYOMePF4Sd6CgGyc-0qZ1gA/s1600/_MG_2840.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
Step 4. Cut out the shape of card which your string will fasten round.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjndrXtrSYWJE_NPYlWl1QMvayODhbweBuaxeBS3eXYmonj8hlQA-v3ICBLih12bNlI8vqfiAUKUxVBkTriUORlub_dSkTOlLcRXYlpCXFugeU3r7yv6Y129tqv6-gmecREpdXIh0cpLO4/s1600/_MG_2843.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjndrXtrSYWJE_NPYlWl1QMvayODhbweBuaxeBS3eXYmonj8hlQA-v3ICBLih12bNlI8vqfiAUKUxVBkTriUORlub_dSkTOlLcRXYlpCXFugeU3r7yv6Y129tqv6-gmecREpdXIh0cpLO4/s1600/_MG_2843.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
Step 5. Make a slit in the shape you just cut out and another slit where you want the shape to be fastened on to your envelope.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi8hItqepUF5bSZnHlNx7oiFJI4rTkzYyoEBFJ-Jme14VzBmLvyzVU1i0Bmj0aWFTYmDAEBbOkMIKv2CcoIhhkIsGM-QeNn5-OvkFie6SzVVRwcKYRJ7Czb8vCNFPTrrlzvq8gYhz9plk/s1600/_MG_2845.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi8hItqepUF5bSZnHlNx7oiFJI4rTkzYyoEBFJ-Jme14VzBmLvyzVU1i0Bmj0aWFTYmDAEBbOkMIKv2CcoIhhkIsGM-QeNn5-OvkFie6SzVVRwcKYRJ7Czb8vCNFPTrrlzvq8gYhz9plk/s1600/_MG_2845.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
Step 6. Put a paper fastener through. I bought my paper fasteners from Amazon for about £1.50<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg6kcUCXe_s4OAmqSZ0RRYMQKC3V7oQ7th7n9rRRyFCRk-CSGfqXRdXyJP15Ik3mImH0q7rDVZbLCKf2XnmbJQcnoDcnxW7G_w1SIjuwiuv63Y9ky7W9wDC6X867PksrFQAfjU8pyibW8/s1600/_MG_2846.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg6kcUCXe_s4OAmqSZ0RRYMQKC3V7oQ7th7n9rRRyFCRk-CSGfqXRdXyJP15Ik3mImH0q7rDVZbLCKf2XnmbJQcnoDcnxW7G_w1SIjuwiuv63Y9ky7W9wDC6X867PksrFQAfjU8pyibW8/s1600/_MG_2846.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step 7. Tie a knot with string round one of the cut out shapes and wind the thread around both shapes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_4sy-mHj5bmJWQKAa-dwDNbPJ-2avNcMRfLx7Sk3sbEgF3C0XsNbrl06njBbaCurfjf558QZvgLUipPkcp7qCtDsO85eNAKd4HcLWEjGQQrzo7qSWcjxd8jflqjKCExfAQUjzgXsjt80/s1600/_MG_2847.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_4sy-mHj5bmJWQKAa-dwDNbPJ-2avNcMRfLx7Sk3sbEgF3C0XsNbrl06njBbaCurfjf558QZvgLUipPkcp7qCtDsO85eNAKd4HcLWEjGQQrzo7qSWcjxd8jflqjKCExfAQUjzgXsjt80/s1600/_MG_2847.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
Step 8. Finished<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii0UaifUO5F4epFBGYHgxef_b71iMRAvUuki366pW8ZejdzDeeVejvVnqJg8BgM8rebReLCepZemyUBQqr9gPEaAUALLnNY1VdSrpDWWd6PIJR6CbYPkcn3l_6DYq50nXJvFMwhrM5eZ0/s1600/_MG_2848.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii0UaifUO5F4epFBGYHgxef_b71iMRAvUuki366pW8ZejdzDeeVejvVnqJg8BgM8rebReLCepZemyUBQqr9gPEaAUALLnNY1VdSrpDWWd6PIJR6CbYPkcn3l_6DYq50nXJvFMwhrM5eZ0/s1600/_MG_2848.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
So here you have it, the very first string envelope made by me! The couple I photographed at Gatton Manor on 14th February (photos are here) will be the first couple to receive the new handmade wedding photography packaging (photos of the final thing will be up shortly). And from then on I’ll be needing to make lots of these envelopes for many different reasons – the main one being that they are just so cute!!<br />

<div>
It's £6.95 for 50g (<a href="http://www.johnlewis.com/debbie-bliss-paloma-tweed-super-chunky-yarn-50g/p1617532?colour=Silver">You can find it using this link</a>) but totally worth it! So soft and also washable! I used 7 balls for this scarf with 9mm knitting needles. The recommended for this wool is 10mm but I wanted the knit a little more tight. It's a pretty simple scarf- just two purl and knit. </div>
<div>
There's lots of videos on YouTube- which is how I learnt. Just type in 'Ribbed Knitting'.</div>

However, I miss it. And I miss the guilt free posting of whatever creative Wotsits I fancied posting about.<br />

It cost around £370... And it was a nice album but not quite as nice as a handmade, one of a kind, BESPOKE wedding album... so I got the idea of designing and creating my own.</div>
<div>
We were taught about book binding at university and quite a few visiting lecturers discussed it... so I tried it. And failed. And then I tried again. And failed. And then gave up and asked for help from a colleague at the art shop. So we went to her studio and I looked at her work and decided that I am never again going to attempt making another wedding album because her skills are amazing and she has agreed to create a sample one!!! </div>
<div>
I am so excited about this concept and I really really hope it works out... </div>
<div>
These are few books she's already created... </div>

My sister and I have decided to send each other one photograph everyday of something that has made us happy. Although this is 100% corny, I'm loving it. I love having some sort of communication with Lucie even though she's living far away. These are my photos since Monday...<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Recently I have had the pleasure of creating a marvellous (if I do say so myself) skirt on my new nifty little dress making model. The pockets took a while because I am in capable of sticking to instructions but I'm pretty chuffed with the outcome! Before using the vegetable died cotton I had to wash it at thirty degrees with salt then wash it again to make sure the colours stayed... I think you have to do this with all vegetable died material. Cotton House in London stock a lot of these fabrics. I used the same pattern which I used for this <a href="http://everythingjoyful.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/a-shirt.html">dress and shirt</a>... It maybe my favourite pattern ever. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

In other news, working full-time is exhausting. I've updated my <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/eleanorj/">Flickr</a> stream, I am photographing nursery children again, I discovered the joys of Inktense pencils and the book- 'The 100 year old man' (extremely good read). Currently I am on 'How to be a Woman' by Caitlin Morlan which is equally entertaining. </div>

<br />
For Mother's day this year I used some old lino stamps of flowers and printed them onto card. I then sewed it on to a wad of folded paper to create a notebook. Easy and simple! ... I actually used oil paints instead of block printing ink. It took longer to dry and probably not as professional, but I found it worked just fine (it's also a lot cheaper)<br />

This time to an art shop called CassArt and now I'm working full time.<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
It's a really good art shop and quite a small company. Which is nice... The people there are lovely and it's a great working enviroment. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
We do workshops for children and there's a studio upstairs for adult workshops. Last weekend I ran a tissue paper flower workshop which is the first one I've done.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This weekend it's bunny masks but luckily for me I've got the weekend off! Which means paying attention to this blog and updating everyone on everything(if anyone actually reads these ramblings) </div>

I've been working on a quilt since October... This is my first quilt so I'm relying a lot on a book called 'Patchwork Quilting and Appliqué: The Complete guide to all the Essential </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgao-5upCCuGLlBar-UUNgXJyee4enrsRGtlQD28l1D4Qqq7mGmFHJMgOv8Prlq2Er8tbpcDkyAzmWWdaE8ZIEOvJqJTqmFUPWkbrf-L89L4qNKjIeYDLZtfUrT_99W6WCG-YhC1U05Xy3F/s1600/photo-2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgao-5upCCuGLlBar-UUNgXJyee4enrsRGtlQD28l1D4Qqq7mGmFHJMgOv8Prlq2Er8tbpcDkyAzmWWdaE8ZIEOvJqJTqmFUPWkbrf-L89L4qNKjIeYDLZtfUrT_99W6WCG-YhC1U05Xy3F/s1600/photo-2.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp_uO2IPH_I1g-REDzx77xjGa1r8Ucb97ojER2LWMT4rzLyCpLGcOUNtAIPe3GoN5O9ItPviSab1KulbpvXDExiQ6z_dDwoKyDmSYZYRTnpipAJ0dqcrRtIPt9TQ9BjTQkZRnRIEtT3p7-/s1600/IMG_0598.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp_uO2IPH_I1g-REDzx77xjGa1r8Ucb97ojER2LWMT4rzLyCpLGcOUNtAIPe3GoN5O9ItPviSab1KulbpvXDExiQ6z_dDwoKyDmSYZYRTnpipAJ0dqcrRtIPt9TQ9BjTQkZRnRIEtT3p7-/s1600/IMG_0598.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Techniques' by Reader's Digest. This book has actually been a great help and contains easy step to step guides. You can find the book on Amazon for around £5 (second hand)</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;">Of course I gave the Cloth House, London, a visit for the fabrics... But to save money I got the plain fabrics from my local (cheap) fabric shop. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The picture on the right shows a rough layout of the patchwork... this is before they were sewn together. I took this photo to outline which patches to sew together. Currently I am just completing the patchwork... I still need to add a border and quilt it! </div>

M6102. I must admit I adapted it slightly because the pattern confused me... I often do this with sewing but usually end up de-stitching everything. Anyway, this time it didn't go wrong. The only thing was that it turned out to be VERY short. Infact, it's more of a long top, I have to wear jeans with it. I do love this pattern but next time I use it, I will definitely allow more material for the body of the dress.<br />

Recently, a silly little nagging feeling keeps popping up in this small brain of mine and it's because I'm not doing enough to get to where I want to be (and that's taking photos of children and weddings). I keep letting myself get distracted and I didn't even create a blog post in the whole of October!!!!<br />
<br />
<br />
So, to sort this silly little nagging feeling out I've started a plan of action.<br />
<br />
I am...<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ069DhiyP6Rp5QzrrJEYRFguQpegd_wWWT8IooJpQhIwCM8ox8bFShwDoUJkhwaRiuxu_fbIgU7pQ9sZu2Fshp6pNPz6mK4JRcBvne-vFmKSpylOFYyF1QWtqkE4wwERSEtOcibr4-P2g/s1600/IMG_0575.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ069DhiyP6Rp5QzrrJEYRFguQpegd_wWWT8IooJpQhIwCM8ox8bFShwDoUJkhwaRiuxu_fbIgU7pQ9sZu2Fshp6pNPz6mK4JRcBvne-vFmKSpylOFYyF1QWtqkE4wwERSEtOcibr4-P2g/s320/IMG_0575.jpg" width="320" /></a>A) Going to submit more pictures to Getty Images. Even if I do hate doing the model release forms.<br />
B) Keep taking Images.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs8h5xGiJQ6BESQtISlyWm_QEGyT2q_XR2RT5AG7BUhQYCQ7jnc1Ieeex_jB5lCvZmFItps6SPGc0yF_snA_cGQqGtBJKQXDQj5ErHPaF7tSGf8c0AUVPCAhokpVLSn8IxmjQBCDZiAfwE/s1600/IMG_0573.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs8h5xGiJQ6BESQtISlyWm_QEGyT2q_XR2RT5AG7BUhQYCQ7jnc1Ieeex_jB5lCvZmFItps6SPGc0yF_snA_cGQqGtBJKQXDQj5ErHPaF7tSGf8c0AUVPCAhokpVLSn8IxmjQBCDZiAfwE/s320/IMG_0573.jpg" width="320" /></a>C) Buy that 24-70mm f2.8 lens.<br />
D) Take photos of children at my church... Or in other words... build up my portfolio.<br />
E) Create flyers for local nurseries and schools. Starting with OLI (the places I did the nursery photos for before)<br />
F) Keep up to date with photographic magazines<br />
<br />
Ideally I want to have the flyers and posters designed and ready for Easter time because Easter will be the time that every parent in a 5 mile radius of me realises that they NEED to have their child photographed by my fair hands.<br />
<br />
A couple of weekends ago I went to Photolive 2013 where I attended few seminars by wedding photographers- Gary Walsh, Catherine Conner and Kate Hopwell-Smith. They were all particularly inspiring... And today I picked up my "turning-pro" magazine and who should've written the first article? Cather Conner herself! What a small world.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8523063312396283279.post-31829208725222235042013-11-12T13:12:00.000+00:002013-11-12T13:12:14.832+00:00Terry O'Neil<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

"You should only be a photographer if you really want to take pictures. If you don't then don't do it as a job. You must want to take pictures. I hate cameras though! They get in the way because the picture is in my mind and I do it, but you have to want to do it.<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was only when I stopped at around 65, doing it flat out, that I ever realised what a fantastic life I've had. When I look back and see all the people I've photographed I can't believe it. I wish I could have it all back" Terry O'Neil </div>

I've mentioned it before but I work for The Body Shop and most of the time I really enjoy working for this company!<br />
<br />
Anyways, for the past two weeks (...not continuously...) I've been sewing stocking shapes together so every person who works there can have one and if they're good they get a product and then the product goes into a stocking and then on Christmas Eve they get to take it home. YAY. And there's no worry about putting the product in the wrong stocking because there's a photo by each one! DOUBLE YAY. It makes me want to have Christmas ALL year round!<br />
<br />
But baby Jesus was only born once so that can't happen. <br />
<br />
Sophie is kindly modelling how happy everyone was to receive such a great stocking. Sophie also has a blog we should all look at...<br />
