The Joel Community Trust have developed an exciting project where any homeless and vulnerable people can find shelter, food and friendship. Their plan is to build a community on the site of St. Peter's offering services including; housing and benefits advice, tracking down places in long term accommodation and providing shelter for those who don't have anywhere else.
£598,000 needs to be raised for the building to be designed and built. If 300 Gideons pay £15.00 a month (plus gift aid) for five years, the Gideon Factor would raise £337,500 which is enough for them to act on their plans.
The Joel Community Trust seeks to:
Protect the self-esteem and dignity of homeless and vulnerable people and restore confidence, whilst providing security and stability.
Provide opportunities for creativity and industry, inspiring homeless and vulnerable people to learn new skills and seek constructive employment.
